Each Saturday, Catholic Forum brings you a news update from The Dialog, the official news source for the Diocese of Wilmington, and an interview segment of about 21 minutes in length. Catholic Forum is the longest-running Catholic talk show on radio, having begun in 1939 on a radio station in Wilmington, Delaware. It is now heard every Saturday afternoon at 1:30 on Relevant Radio 640 and is heard in the Philadelphia and South Jersey area as well as throughout the State of Delaware and Maryland's Eastern Shore. As soon as it finishes airing on the radio, a new program podcast debuts at 2:00 p.m. ET each Saturday afternoon. Catholic Forum is a production of the Catholic Diocese of Wilmington

On this episode of Catholic Forum, after a brief introduction, the Gospel for the 30th Sunday in Ordinary Time, and a song from the "More Than 50 Most Loved Hymns" CD, Ms. Colleen Lindsey, Director of the Office for Religious Education for the Diocese of Wilmington, amd Dr. William Keimig, Assistant Director of The Franciscan University of Steubenville Catechetical Institute are interviewed. The Catechetical Institute at Franciscan University exists to train and support the key catechists in any situation—priests, deacons, parents, or laity, whether professional or volunteer. Through conferences, online workshops, videos, audio, personal mentorship, and a wealth of resources produced by Franciscan University, all involved in the work of catechesis will find new ideas, new approaches, new techniques, and a new confidence to do the work of catechesis. The Diocese if Wilmington is partnering with the Institute to bring this program to Delaware and Maryland Eastern Shore parishes. Also, Father Rich Jasper will tell us about the life of Marthe Robin, another Modern Day Witness.

On this episode of Catholic Forum, after an introduction, the Gospel for the 29th Sunday in Ordinary Time, and a cut from John Michael Talbot's "Table of Plenty" CD, we will talk with Bonnie Engstrom about her book, "61 Minutes to a Miracle: Fulton Sheen and a True Story of the Impossible." Bonnie's son, James, was stillborn. Through the intercession of Venerable Fulton Sheen and for the glory of God, he came back to life after being without a pulse for 61 minutes. In July, the Engstrom family miracle was approved by Pope Francis, paving the way for Sheen's possible canonization. Also, we will learn about Francis Xavier Prefontaine, one of Father Rich Jasper's Modern Day Witnesses.
