On this episode of Catholic Forum, after a brief introduction, the Gospel for the 5th Sunday of Lent, and a cut from the Catholic Treasures CD, we celebrate the 80th birthday of Catholic Forum with a visit from a man who hosted this program for 30 years, Mr. Gene Donnelly. We look back at how the program started on April 9, 1939, how it was instrumental in the formation of the Catholic Broadcasters' Association, and take a walk down memory lane with Gene who served as the Director of Communications for the Diocese of Wilmington from 1970 until his retirement in 2000. Catholic Forum is the longest-running (oldest) Catholic radio program in the country.
