Each Saturday, Catholic Forum brings you a news update from The Dialog, the official news source for the Diocese of Wilmington, and an interview segment of about 21 minutes in length. Catholic Forum is the longest-running Catholic talk show on radio, having begun in 1939 on a radio station in Wilmington, Delaware. It is now heard every Saturday afternoon at 1:30 on Relevant Radio 640 and is heard in the Philadelphia and South Jersey area as well as throughout the State of Delaware and Maryland's Eastern Shore. As soon as it finishes airing on the radio, a new program podcast debuts at 2:00 p.m. ET each Saturday afternoon. Catholic Forum is a production of the Catholic Diocese of Wilmington

On this episode of Catholic Forum, after news from The Dialog, we will chat with seminarian, Manuel Vaz Guedes, one of the singers on the beautiful new CD, "Sancta Nox: Christmas Matins from Bavaria," and sample some of the music on the CD. The Seminarians of Saint Peter Wigratzbad brings you the peaceful sounds of Christmas Matins through Gregorian Chant and polyphonic gems. Also included is an ethereal rendition of a multi-lingual Silent Night. -presented by a an international group hailing from the majestic Alps in Germany's Bavaria region.

On this episode of Catholic Forum, after news from The Dialog, we meet Walt and Brennan Ferris, two deacons for the Diocese of Wilmington. Walt was ordained to the permanent diaconate in August and Brennan was ordained to the transitional diaconate in May. Walt is in ministry at St. Elizabeth Church in Wilmington, and Brennan is finishing up his studies at St. Mary's Seminary in Baltimore.

On this episode of Catholic Forum, after Amanda Cathcart brings us news from The Dialog, and we hear a musical selection from the Catholic Treasures CD, we will talk to two Wilmington Fire Department chaplains, Rev. Brad Martin and Father Michael Murray. Rev. Martin, a Presbyterian Minister, has been a fire department chaplain for over 30 years. Father Murray, an Oblate of St, Francis de Sales priest, has been serving in this ministry for over 4 years. They discuss the joys and challenges of ministry to these brave men and women fire fighters and EMTs. Also, we will learn about another Modern Day Witness from Fr. Rich Jasper.

On this episode of Catholic Forum, after Joe Owens gives us the news headlines from The Dialog, Bob Krebs talks with Dr. Larry Chapp, co-founder of the Dorothy Day Catholic Worker Farm in Harveys Lake, Pennsylvania. The farm is part of the Catholic Worker Movement founded by Dorothy Day and Peter Maurin during the Great Depression. The 11-acre homestead raises a variety of crops and livestock to help feed the poor. Larry tells us about the farm, and gives us a preview of his November 4, 2021 presentation at the St. Thomas More Oratory at the University of Delaware. Read more about it in The Dialog.

On this episode of Catholic Forum, after news from The Dialog, we will talk to Mr. Dennis Turner, author of the book, "What You Do In The War, Sister?: Catholic Sisters in the WWII Nazi Resistance." Based on letters and documents written by Catholic Sisters during the Nazi occupation of Belgium, this book tells the remarkable story of these brave and faithful women, and how they served to resist the German forces.

On this episode of Catholic Forum, after news from The Dialog, we learn about the new Footprints Ministry from the Diocese of Wilmington, when Ms. Colleen Lindsey, Director of the Office for Religious Education and Office for Marriage and Family Life, and Ms. Eileen Gaus, Coordinator of Pre-Cana for the Office for Marriage and Family Life, are the guests. Footprints is a new ministry designed to assist families by providing resources after the loss of their unborn child, whether it was very recently or many years ago.  It will aid mothers, fathers, couples, and families with support, education, and compassion by providing books, guidance, and other resources. It and will launch with a special Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Mass on October 15, 2021 at 7 pm at St. Elizabeth Church in Wilmington, Delaware.

On this episode of Catholic Forum, after news from Joe Owens, editor of The Dialog, and a song from the CD, "Hymns," by Beth Nielsen Chapman (actually, we will hear two cuts from this great record today), we will hear Bishop William Koenig's homily, most if it on his own voice, recorded at the September 25, 2021 Diocese of Wilmington Marian Pilgrimage to the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C.  About two-thirds of the way through the bishop's homily, we experienced a failure of the recording equipment, so Catholic Forum host, Bob Krebs, reads the conclusion of the homily from the text. Also, Father Rich Jasper (who never has recording equipment failure), will present another Modern Day Witness.
