Each Saturday, Catholic Forum brings you a news update from The Dialog, the official news source for the Diocese of Wilmington, and an interview segment of about 21 minutes in length. Catholic Forum is the longest-running Catholic talk show on radio, having begun in 1939 on a radio station in Wilmington, Delaware. It is now heard every Saturday afternoon at 1:30 on Relevant Radio 640 and is heard in the Philadelphia and South Jersey area as well as throughout the State of Delaware and Maryland's Eastern Shore. As soon as it finishes airing on the radio, a new program podcast debuts at 2:00 p.m. ET each Saturday afternoon. Catholic Forum is a production of the Catholic Diocese of Wilmington

In 1978, he joined Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Wilmington as a staff member at one of their group homes. In January 2024, Fritz is retiring after 45 years of service to the vunerable of Delaware and Maryland's Eastern Shore.  Join us as we look back at Fritz's career and his impact on our community.

On this episode of Catholic Forum, after a news update from The Dialog, and a beautiful Advent classic from Beth Nielsen Chapman's "Hymns" CD, we will talk with Father Dwight Longeneker, former Anglican priest, pastor, writer and speaker. He is the author A few years ago Fr. Longenecker surprised Christians with a factual investigation about the Magi of St Matthew’s Christmas story. He followed that up with an examination of the historical background of St Luke’s tale of the Shepherds of Bethlehem. We discuss these books and his conversion to Catholicism on this episode of Catholic Forum. First we talk to Michael Foley, the famed author of the international bestseller "Drinking with the Saints," about his book, "Why We Kiss Under the Mistletoe: Christmas Traditions Explained." In this Christmas must-have book, he explains, celebrates, and gives us a glimpse into all the sometimes macabre and always fascinating nooks and crannies of the holiday. Then, Sister Ann David Strohminger, OSF, Delegate for Religious for the Diocese of Wilmington, tell us the origins of the most important Christmas tradition; the Christmas Nativity Scene, that was started by Saint Francis of Assisi 8oo years ago.
